Clever Little Handies is an amazing book for very early communication. When we think about it, we use signs to communicate with our babies from an early age when we mime songs or poems. So why not introduce sign language from an early age and communicate with babies before they can talk?
What makes this book great…
Babies can communicate with their hands before they can talk; they can wave; they can clap; they can point. They have the dexterity in their hands to formulate signs long before they have the muscle dexterity in their mouths to form words. By teaching babies sign language from newborns up, they will have a vocabulary to use and a way to communicate, even if they’re not formulating words yet.
