The two star-crossed lovers on a collision course orchestrated by an invisible, arcane hand. Follow their gruelling trials and hardships as their paths slowly entwine, when at last they unite their breif love sparks a fire that engulfs them both, and from the ashes...further evil arises. Reader reaction.~ I was so impressed by the story, it was enthralling and from the moment the tale unfurled in the Blue Light bar I was spellbound by all - the conversational engagement proffered by the author at the outset, the visceral imagery (written like a dream for a potential cinematographer!!!), the twists, the setpieces (the visit to the Hellfire Club, Dafydd onboard the ship, Dr. Blake (I could go on - all pure class!) and just the pure quality of the writing (Sid making haste from the hotel, how Loftus Hall is described, Baal padding across the bogland of the peninsula -footprints leaving a small blue flame - are just small examples of how evocative and exciting the writing is) , Annie's evolution, I can honestly say, it was one of the most enjoyable books I have read - entertaining and enthralling. Seriously it's brilliant.
