1798 - The rebellion in Ireland has been crushed.
The authorities are mopping up any remnants of the rebels still left in hiding. Retribution and executions are the order of the day, spreading fear into the hearts of the beaten communities. The young Louth rebel, James Moore, has fled to Wicklow while his cousin, Laurence, recovers from his ordeal with the Wexford rebels. Meanwhile, in Meath, a lieutenant in the yeomanry questions his resolve at the bloodletting following the rebellion and makes an enemy in the process. And then, a final clarion call is heard from the west! A French army has finally landed to assist the Irish. The three young men must seek their destiny in this final battle for Ireland's liberty.
