Robertstown Gaelic Football Club was formed in 1919, and in the 100 years since, the club has won six Junior county championships and many league titles in Junior, Minor and Underage competitions.

Local heroes from the past and present are depicted throughout these pages in all their glory. Great moments and memorable encounters are recalled by players and supporters in the history of a small rural club with a big heart, and of its important place in the local community.

The club has grown with the increase in population, while the aims and ideals of the GAA have continued to be fostered and promoted in the locality. There is a deep sense of pride in the club and its achievements, and through the years Robertstown has supplied many players to the Kildare County teams, among them Frank and Jim Dowling, who played for Kildare in the 1935 All-Ireland Final.

From gentle flights by balloon to high-speed, adrenaline-packed air races, the women in these two volumes did it all. They competed in flying competitions throughout Europe, Africa and America. They grabbed newspaper headlines when they completed long-distance solo endurance flights. They established world records in other aviation spheres.` They were honoured with titles. Their backgrounds ranged from poverty to aristocracy but they associated and mingled with royals, nobles and socialites in the aviation heyday of the 1920s and 1930s. Sadly, however, history has largely forgotten these women. These two volumes give them their rightful place among Irish achievers of the early twentieth century.
