A Different Kind of Happy centred on Jo (loosely based on Rach) and her moving on from her messy early adulthood with a move to a new life, with her partner and family, by the sea.
A Letter to Keep You Safe is set a couple of years on from the end of ADKOH, returning to the same cast of characters but with a shift in focus to Jo's friend Lou in the aftermath of her divorce. We saw tiny glimpses of Lou's story in ADKOH but this will tell the whole story, focussing on her escape from an abusive marriage.
Rach's books offer all the comfort of a cosy setting and a returning cast of characters dealing with real lives full of love and family. But they are also very 'real' stories of family, divorce, ex husbands, custody battles and the every day ups and downs of being a normal family, not a picture perfect presentation of one.
