While the title relates to the geographic area of Kingstown/Dun Laoghaire because of electoral boundaries changing from time to time over those years covering the pre 1919 situation, elections during the periods 1920-25;1930-1950;1950-1966;1967-1979 and 1982 1999. While mainly focused on the Labour Party it overflows into parties which has since merged into the Labour family, and charts splits, independent labour parties including the Larkin inspired Irish Worker League. It also has historic resonances with the trade's councils in Bray, Dun Laoghaire and Dublin and some of the main officers who dominated the political and economic debates of their officership's.
