The idea for Fattening the Curves began with Una’s own experience of Covid-19 and having to go into isolation while waiting for her test results which thankfully in the end were negative. She decided to keep a diary using her own unique talent, graphic design. Following all the rules of self-isolation, Una now shares the key moments of her journey through Covid-19 in a light-hearted, witty way while at the same time acknowledging the difficult times and great loss that so many are experiencing throughout our community.

Beautifully illustrated Una brings us on a vibrant, visual experience of illness, the testing, the waiting, the salute to frontline staff, the recovery and return to a different kind of normal for now. She makes clear the importance of contact with family and friends even in the smallest of ways. They say that laughter is the best medicine and there is no doubt that Fattening the Curves will make you smile.
