Each of the fourteen stories has a lesson, a moral, which is presented in simple language and which avoids the boredom of a sermon or a lecture. The book differs from most current childrens ones in that it never involves aliens, intergalactic wars, monsters, robots , scary serpents and images of terror. Instead Dr Doms stories gets the message of fairness, justice, equality, diversity and nature across using images that are easy to understand and reflect the real world.
I often told these stories in the children's wards at night to settle them down, and so have gladly cooperated with Tribes Press in donating copies to children in deprived circumstances.
But I didn't want to bore adults either and think this book succeeds in making grown-ups think at a deeper level than is apparent at first sight. The book is a joy to read for both adult and child.
