Colm Cooper was a tiny, freckle-faced kid, the youngest of five siblings in a GAA-mad family from Killarney. When he retired as an intercounty gaelic footballer in 2017, he was one of the most decorated gaelic footballers of all-time.
This instalment of the Great Irish Sports Stars series follows Cooper's journeys as a young footballer, from his club Dr Crokes in Killarney, where he was given his famous nickname, all the way to Croke Park, where he won 5 All-Ireland titles. This is the story of how a kid who everyone counted out and said wasn't big enough or strong enough to wear the green and gold jersey of Kerry became one of the greatest gaelic footballers of all time.
