From the author:

The Glen of Imaal in Wicklow is deeply rooted in my DNA through my Cooper, Wilson, Jackson, Finlay, Eager and Hinch ancestry. Although I was not born there, it is a place I lover dearly.

When COVID19 struck in 2020 and I was told to 'cocoon' I decided to work on another book project. The result is this book in which I trace family and distant relatives. While many of them left our shores for distant lands, others stayed and lived in the Glen.

When researching the families in the Glen, I was struck by their deep faith, their respect for their neighbours, and the lands they farmed. Their ability to accept what life dealt them, and their capacity to deal with incredibly challenging situations.

For me it is a privilege to get to know these people and to share their DNA.
