This brief account of the 1st Battalion of the Royal Munster Fusiliers at Gallipoli is built on the letters and other accounts of the participants which were published at the time and are very much of the time in their style and thought. Many of those who have an interest in the history of the Munsters will be aware of the diaries, etc, of G. W. Geddes, G. W. Nightingale and Denis Moriarty much of which are available online or are quoted in many well-known publications. This account sidelines these well-known Munsters to concentrate on the men and lesser-known officers of the Battalion in order to tell the story of the 1st Munsters at Gallipoli in 1915. It also includes an extensive casualty list and other genealogical details.
