Sunday Independent Book Review by Dr Marie Bourke, art historian, curator
‘This fascinating selection of stories. “Remarkable Lives” – The Wild Apple Compendium of Irish Biography (Associated Editions, 2017) was originally printed in letterpress by Jim Wilder. Having discovered the book at a Print Museum exhibition, I stayed up late reading every story because they were so engaging. They included Early Christian themes like Columcille and St Malachi of Armagh to the Cuala Press printmaker Elizabeth Corbert ‘Lolly’ Yeats and the 20th century Dolmen Press bookmaker Liam Miller. 29.10.2017
